Outdoor movies in the Treasure Valley

Ready for Outdoor movies in the Treasure Valley?

Everyone has been wondering. Where can we watch outdoor movies here in the Treasure Valley? 2020 brought many outdoor events to its knees, leaving residents to figure out how to keep the summer busy. Pools closed, concerts were canceled, and a lot of people were just bored. Well, the summer of 2021, we are hoping, will be completely different. We've taken the time to gather a list of where you can watch outdoor movies in the Treasure Valley and outside.

Sparklight Movie Night | Settlers Park in Meridian

These movie nights were canceled in 2020, but the 2021 schedule was posted, and ready to book your Friday nights starting June 11-August 20th. All movies begin at dusk. Blankets and low-back chairs are encouraged to save your spot. And if you choose to come early, kids can enjoy the Sound Garden splash pad.  Please know that you are required to supervise your children as the park will not provide any supervision types. There also will be a concession stand for snacks!    Here's what's playing:

  • June 18: Moana

Silver Screen on the Green | Optimist Park

Nampa Parks and Recreation is excited to announce their free movies in the park at Optimist Park. Starting on June 4, you can bring blankets and lawn chairs and enjoy yourselves! The park will have movies played on a giant inflatable movie screen. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Nampa Parks and Rec will have COVID protocols in place to promote the safety of all participants. You will find the movie area broken down into 10x10 squares to provide safe distances between families.  Pre-packaged snacks and hand sanitizer will be available as well. Movies start at dusk!  Here's what's playing:
  • June 4: Trolls World Tour
  • June 11: Spies in Disguise
  • June 18: The Croods: A New Age

We are sure that more areas will announce their lineups. Boise Parks and Recreation Department hasn't yet released where and when they will begin their traveling outdoor movie series Movies Under the Stars. Boise's lineup also starts in June and runs until August. We hope they will announce that soon.  There are always outdoor drive-in movies you can visit around the Treasure Valley area as well. There's nothing like staying in your car, tuning in to a specific radio channel, and sitting back and relaxing. You can find the following drive-in movie theatres:
