NARPM Designations - What are they?

What exactly are NARPM Designations?

Some states require property managers to have their real estate license, some don't. Regardless, most property managers choose to go beyond that license and get certifications specializing in the property management field. It's imperative to make sure your Property Manager has some credentials when choosing who helps manage your property. You will find that most property managers are members of the National Association of Residential Property Managers, also known as NARPM. Being a member of NARPM, you gain the eligibility to earn designations with certification showing a dedication to the field. Most NARPM designations require education, such as classroom hours, online courses, and even volunteer activities.

The National Association of Residential Property Managers layout coursework for each designation. There are several different types of certifications/designations:

Residential Management Professional, RMP®

Active members of NARPM generally are given the certification of Residental Management Professional to licensed real estate agents. These members have managed residential property and have hands-on experience. These courses consist of 14 different classes and about 18 hours of combined training covering property management exclusively.

Master Property Manager, MPM®

This designation, along with the RMP, is a title that is coveted by Property Managers and the most pursued. It's the highest certification for a Property Manager. The Master Property Manager title requires additional courses and requirements, and generally, those that get this certification have their RMP designation first.

Certified Residential Management Company, CRMC®

When you work or own a Property management firm, they are usually run by an MPM ® At that time, you have then spent enough time in the field and are capable of seeking out your Certified Residential Management Company (CRMC®) designation. Top companies and firms generally have this designation under their belt and are continually being recognized in their area as leading Property Management firms.  Either way, the designations given by the NARPM are highly coveted in the Property Management field. These professionals prove to be determined to live up to a standard as industry leaders.
